Susan Tang, MSW RSW

Registered Social Worker

Susan works with individuals from all walks of life who may embrace a range of mental health needs that can include but is not limited to: anxiety, depression, distress and loss, cultural and/or relational dynamics, self-esteem and self-worth, stress and school difficulties, as well as trauma.

Meet Susan.

Susan works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem and self-worth, shame, guilt, and trauma. She understands that people come to therapy for many reasons — to move through transitions, to find grounding in times of uncertainty, or to make sense of pain that feels too complex to hold alone. At the heart of Susan’s work is the belief that every person carries an innate capacity for healing and wholeness, though life experiences and past wounds can make it hard to access that inner strength.

Rooted in a trauma-informed and relational approach, Susan brings warmth, creativity, and curiosity to every session. She is dedicated to creating a space that feels open, safe, and attuned — a place where all parts of you are welcome. Susan believes that healing unfolds through connection and collaboration; she walks alongside each person as they learn to listen to their own system and rediscover the wisdom that has always been within. Her hope is to support clients in tending to the parts of themselves that have been hurt, silenced, or burdened, and to nurture a deeper sense of self-trust, compassion, and ease.

Susan is trained in Level 1 and Level 2 Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and has completed additional advanced IFS trainings focused on complex trauma, attachment, and somatic integration. She also incorporates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process experiences that feel stored in the body or beyond words. Her work is guided by a deep respect for each person’s inner system — recognizing that even the most protective parts have developed with care and good intention, often in response to pain.

Whether you are new to therapy or returning to reconnect with yourself in new ways, Susan offers a gentle, collaborative space to explore what may be holding you back, and to support you in moving toward greater harmony, clarity, and connection. If you are curious about her work, please don’t hesitate to reach out and connect!

Exploring EMDR Therapy from a Therapist’s Perspective

The first time that I had heard about EMDR Therapy was when I was completing my education at the University of Western Ontario. A professor of mine had mentioned that this therapeutic intervention was excellent in treating trauma and trauma-based responses and went on to explain how this intervention worked, how it affects our clients, and so forth…

Guide to EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is a relatively new therapeutic intervention that is starting to attention from the multiplicity of benefits that it offers. For example, EMDR can create a change in one’s thoughts, a change in concentration and focus, a reduction in chronic pain and suffering, improved self-esteem and self-confidence, improved sleep, improved relationships, and a resolution to trauma and traumatic experiences…
