Stefanie Rico, MSW RSW

Registered Social Worker

Stefanie works with young people experiencing diverse mental health needs, most often supporting individuals in the areas of self-esteem, anxiety, stress and feelings of doubt and indecision

Meet Stefanie.

She provides a non-judgmental approach, deep listening and kind attention, giving you the space to process hard feelings or simply to just be and be heard. Stefanie is rooted in a strengths-based perspective and helps individuals access their inner wisdom, developing a more intimate relationship with themselves and their self-worth. Through her experience personally and professionally, she has learned to trust the process - by not rushing through feelings, thoughts or “healing” we can engage in self-exploration and get to the core of our experiences. She firmly believes that we can access more peace in our present experiences through acceptance, commitment and compassion. Stefanie works collaboratively with you, checking in every step of the way. At the center of her approach is the therapeutic relationship, building genuine connection with her clients, honouring each person’s agency and holding a supportive space. Her style can be described as warm, empathetic and down to earth.

Stefanie is grounded in mindfulness practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), adapting to what is most supportive for each unique individual. She also enjoys incorporating meditation and body awareness practices in her work, drawing from her experience cultivating the mind-body connection as a Yoga teacher.
