Treatment Modalities.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

    CBT is a structured and goal-oriented therapeutic modality that is focused on helping clients to understand and change the negative thinking patterns that are affecting their emotions and behaviour.

  • Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

    MBCT is a therapeutic modality that combines traditional CBT with mindfulness practices such as meditation and grounding exercises. MBCT is mainly used to treat individuals who have recurring bouts of depression.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

    DBT is a therapeutic modality that combines traditional CBT with a philosophical process known as dialectics—i.e. the integration of opposing concepts. DBT therapists work to help their clients reconcile acceptance and change-oriented strategies in a way that enables them to better manage their thoughts, emotions and behaviours.

    Narrative therapy is a psychotherapeutic intervention that is premised on the idea that we make meaning out of life events based on the dominant cultural narratives or discourses that are available to us.
